Under the mission statement “Be an Informed Patient”, ASPLA is launching the Patient’s Brochure, an information campaign through which we want to reach as many patients with blood and bone marrow disorders in the country as possible.
The project will be developed in hospitals and clinics, where patients in the Hematology sections will have access to brochures dedicated to each blood and bone marrow disorder. They will contain information in plain language regarding the diagnosis and what it entails, specific treatment approaches explained, dietary recommendations, as well as useful contact details for a series of hospitals, medical centers and experts in the field.
The first brochure, “Understanding MDS” – the Romanian version, developed in collaboration with the MDS Foundation in the US has already been published on the Foundation’s website [link] and it will soon be available in print as well.
